###  About the Speakers

 [Margaret Renkl](https://authorsunbound.com/margaret-renkl/) is the author of *[Late Migrations: A Natural History of Love and Loss](https://shop.harvard.com/book/9781571313836)* (Milkweed Editions, 2019) and *[Graceland, at Last: Notes on Hope and Heartache From the American South](https://shop.harvard.com/book/9781571311856)* (Milkweed Editions, 2021). Her new book, *[The Comfort of Crows: A Backyard Year](https://shop.harvard.com/book/9781954118461)*, was released in October 2023. Renkl is contributing opinion writer for *The New York Times*, where her essays appear each Monday. A graduate of Auburn University and the University of South Carolina, she lives in Nashville.

 [Robin Kelsey](https://haa.fas.harvard.edu/people/robin-kelsey) is Shirley Carter Burden Professor of Photography and Dean of Arts and Humanities at Harvard University.
