## [RENAISSANCE STUDIES](/renaissance-studies)

## SPEAKER: Richard Zenith, Translator and Pulitzer finalist

Celebrating the 500th birthday of Luís de Camões (1524-1580), Tagus Press has published a new, significantly revised edition of the great Renaissance poet’s lyric poetry, *Sonnets and Other Poems*. The translator, Richard Zenith, will be in conversation with Adam Mahler to discuss what makes this body of work so fascinating and its appeal so enduring, illustrating his remarks with readings from the poems. He will also consider the challenges he faced when rendering it into English.
