Matthew Sussman is a Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Sydney and a former Lecturer on History and Literature at Harvard University. His main research area is nineteenth-century British literature and culture, with a particular focus on the ethics and aesthetics of prose. He has written on literary style in the novel; on virtue theory in modern moral philosophy; and on Victorian artistic and cultural criticism.
