Speaker: Meg Perret, 2022-23 MHC Postdoctoral Fellow
Respondent: Karen Thornber
Meg Perret (she/they) completed her Ph.D. in History of Science with a secondary field in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies from Harvard University. Her areas of expertise are environmental humanities; science and technology studies; and feminist theory. She is a researcher with the interdisciplinary feminist laboratory, the Harvard GenderSci Lab, and an activist with the intersectional climate justice organization, Our Climate Voices.
Karen L. Thornber is Harry Tuchman Levin Professor in Literature and Professor of East Asian Languages and Civilizations. Her research and teaching focus on the medical/health humanities, the environmental humanities, gender, empire, inequality, indigeneities, transculturation, and trauma, as these relate to world literatures and the literatures and cultures of East Asia (Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan), as well as the literatures and cultures of the Indian Ocean Rim (Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia) and more recently the Pacific Rim.
