Overwhelming Nature: Confronting Catastrophe and the Sublime in the Arts and Humanities  | Saturday, March 25 - Sunday, March 26, 2023

"Overwhelming Nature: Confronting Catastrophe and the Sublime in the Arts and Humanities” will explore accounts of the experiences of facing natural catastrophes and will consider the potential and limits of understanding those experiences through the concept of sublimity. The conference will feature both academic and artistic responses to the catastrophic sublime.

The organizing committee is pleased to announce that all of the panel sessions for “Overwhelming Nature: Confronting Catastrophe & the Sublime in the Arts & Humanities” will also be accessible via Zoom.
